First Free Friday
First Free Friday takes place the first Friday of every month. The museum is open free to the public from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. There are always docents in every gallery, and frequently local performers will entertain. All performances are either free or on a donation basis, and are family friendly. Check the calendar for specific listings.
June 1, 2012: Entertainment by the musical duo of Bob Pfeiffer and Eric Skow playing acoustic guitar and occasional harmonica. Opening of the Color and Lights Art Show by local artists. Drum Point Lighthouse open. Free 30-minute cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison, sponsored by M&T Bank.
July 1, 2012: The 257th Army Band will perform on the outdoor stage at 7 p.m.,  lawn chairs and picnic suppers are welcome. Drum Point Lighthouse open. Free 30-minute cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison, sponsored by M&T Bank.
August 3, 2012: The Navy Cruisers will perform on the outdoor stage at 7 p.m., lawn chairs and picnic suppers are welcome. Drum Point Lighthouse open. Free 30-minute cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison, sponsored by M&T Bank.
September 7, 2012: The Calvert Dance Band will perform on the outdoor stage at 7 p.m., lawn chairs and picnic suppers are welcome. Drum Point Lighthouse open. Free 30-minute cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison, sponsored by M&T Bank.
October 5, 2012: NO FIRST FREE FRIDAY. The museum will be open and FREE to the public on Saturday and Sunday for PRAD (Patuxent River Appreciation Days).
From June – September the Drum Point Lighthouse is open and free 30 minute cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison are available.
In December, the Christmas Walk coincides with First Free Friday and the museum is open from 6 – 9:00 p.m., both Friday and Saturday, the first full weekend in December.
