In the Discovery Room visitors can search for real 8 – 20 million years old fossils. A computer touch screen helps you identify your find, and you get to take it home.
In a model of the Cove Point Lighthouse children climb the tower and turn on the light, then put on costumes to play in the keeper’s house.
There is a skiff built in the museum’s boat shop where children can raise and lower the sail, steer using the rudder, and lower the anchor.
At the touch tank interpreters are always on hand to introduce you to some of the curious creatures in the bay, including horseshoe crabs, Diamond Back Terrapins, sea stars, and sea urchins.
Be sure to look for the hidden pictures in the mural.
