Relax and enjoy a leisurely one-hour sightseeing cruise on the river. You will sail the busy Solomons inner harbor, see Solomons Island and the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, pass underneath the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge, and turn back at Pt. Patience and the Naval Recreation Center.

Fees

$7.00 for Adults
$4.00 for children 5–12 years
Children under 5 ride for free when accompanied by a paying adult (excludes organized groups)
A reservation and boarding pass are required for each child, regardless of age, including infants.
Tickets are non-transferable. Refunds provided only when the cruise is canceled by the captain.

May & June

Wednesday through Sunday and Holidays:  2 p.m. and *3:10 p.m.
*If the 2 p.m. cruise is full, tickets will go on sale for a 3:10 p.m. cruise. Tickets for the 3:10 p.m. cruise must be purchased at the Admissions Desk the day of the cruise, and the cruise requires a minimum of 8 passengers.

Friday, May 26:  Public cruises are not available.
Saturday, June 24:  Public cruises are not available.

July and August

Wednesday through Friday:  2 p.m. and *3:10 p.m.
*If the 2 p.m. cruise is full, tickets will go on sale for a 3:10 p.m. cruise. Tickets for the 3:10 p.m. cruise must be purchased at the Admissions Desk the day of the cruise, and the cruise requires a minimum of 8 passengers.

Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays:  2 p.m. and 3:10 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase in advance, online. Remaining tickets may be purchased at the Admissions Desk on the day of the cruise.

Thursday, July 27:  Public cruises are not available.
Saturday, August 26:  Public cruises are not available.

September and October

Wednesday through Sunday and Holidays:  2 p.m. and *3:10 p.m.
*If the 2 p.m. cruise is full, tickets will go on sale for a 3:10 p.m. cruise. Tickets for the 3:10 p.m. cruise must be purchased at the Admissions Desk the day of the cruise, and the cruise requires a minimum of 8 passengers.

Saturday, October 7:  Enjoy FREE cruises during Patuxent River Appreciation Day (PRAD). Cruises will run on the half-hour from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Details

Departures are from the Calvert Marine Museum dock. All cruises are weather permitting at the captain's discretion. Maximum capacity is 40 persons. Accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities with reasonable notice. Strollers and baby carriages are not allowed onboard.

Passengers are required to check in at the museum Admissions Desk to receive a boarding pass no later than 15 minutes prior to the public cruise. The boat will leave promptly at 2 p.m. or 3:10 p.m. and cannot wait for late arrivals.

Ticket Purchase Options

Online: Advance ticket purchase is available online for all 2 p.m. river cruises. You must go to the museum Admissions Desk to get your boarding pass at least 15 minutes prior to the cruise.

Admissions Desk:  Available tickets will be sold at the museum Admission Desk the day of the cruise. Tickets can not be held or reserved over the phone, but you may purchase them online. Tickets sold at the Admissions Desk will only be sold for cruises on that date.

Complimentary Pass: To use a complimentary pass, you can purchase your ticket online and in advance to reserve your space and then receive a refund at the Admissions Desk; or, you can visit the Admissions Desk the day of the cruise and, if space is available, redeem your pass for a ticket.
