Invasive species are not wanted! Many tactics are used to try to reduce or eliminate these from native habitats. Whenever possible, humans have initiated programs that target invasive species as food sources. If it is one thing we do well it is harvesting wildlife for consumption. This is why regional restaurants have begun offering northern snakehead as a menu item. Do your part! The next time you are dining and discover an invasive species on the menu, order it and savor the rewards of being a conservationist consumer. Searching the internet will yield many recipes for other species as well. Together, we can eat invasive species into local extinction!
