1918 Old Town Canoe

Serial number 48960. This 16 ft, Ideal model, AA grade canoe has been freshly restored by members of the Patuxent Small Craft Guild. This canoe is distinguished by premium features including mahogany rails and decks, and half ribs providing additional stiffness to the hull.

All proceeds of sale go to the Calvert Marine Museum. Asking $2,000 or best offer.

Charles River-type Courting Canoe

Charles River type Courting Canoe

Age and builder unknown but possibly by Waltham (Boston area). Builder’s serial number is 294.

Length 16 ft
Max beam 33 inches

Notable features: solid mahogany decks, torpedo stems, covered rails, wide shaped thwarts (one has one straight edge, assume for a backrest but canoe does not come with a backrest).

This canoe has been repainted in the past but otherwise appears to be mostly in good original condition. The canoe needs to be recanvassed as there are slow leaks in the fore and aft stems.

1919 Old Town Canoe

Serial number 56762. This 17 ft Ideal model, AA grade canoe is being offered in very good unrestored condition. The woodwork on this over 100-year old canoe is in extraordinary shape. This canoe will be a stunner after recanvassing and an easy restoration. This canoe is distinguished by premium features including mahogany rails and decks, half ribs, side rails and bilge keels. Someone has added a sailing mast step and partner at some point. There is no sail rig with the boat.
