HOMESCHOOL DAY AT THE CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM
CMM is partnering with the Eastport Yacht Club Foundation
Families of homeschooled children are invited to the museum on Wednesday, April 20 for the annual Spring Homeschool Day. The Calvert Marine Museum is partnering with the Eastport Yacht Club Foundation (EYCF) to offer the Sailing and Boating STEM Program. Ideal for children 5 – 12 years old, the program will run from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Museum admission applies, plus a $2 fee per child. Pre-registration is not required.
This program designed by EYCF, uses everyday tasks involved in boating and sailing to teach technical concepts. Special scheduled stations set up throughout the museum invite students to investigate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). This program will help students explore how simple machines make work easier, how much tide affects navigation and the impacts of invasive species on the local ecosystem.
