Historic Sunset Supper Cruises

SOLOMONS, MD – May 10, 2018 – Climb aboard the Wm. B. Tennison for a 90-minute Sunset Supper Cruise through history; followed by a light supper, on Saturdays, June 2, August 4 and September 1 from 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person. Reserve your spot today by calling 410-326-2042, ext. 41 or emailing Melissa.McCormick@calvertcountymd.gov.

A museum educator and historian will share fascinating facts about Solomons, the WWII Amphibious Training Base, and Solomons’ rich tradition of boat building. While enjoying appetizers, see old steamboat wharfs and hear about the important role they played in town life. View historic homes, landmarks, and other points of interest. Discover where heroic battles were fought, submarines sunk, lighthouses lit, the “Ghost Fleet” wasdocked, and watch the sunset over the horizon.

After the cruise, participants will return to the museum for a short presentation and a light supper prepared by No Thyme To Cook. Guests are invited to bring their own libations.

Explore how the prehistoric past, natural environments, and maritime heritage come to life and tell a unique story of the Chesapeake Bay. The Calvert Marine Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $9.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, military with valid I.D, AAA and AARP members, and $4.00 for children ages 5 - 12; children under 5 and museum members are admitted free.
