NEW PALEO EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY AT CHARLES COUNTY LIBRARY
The Paleontology Department at the Calvert Marine Museum has taken the show on the road! See the new temporary Paleontology exhibit titled “The Paleontology of Calvert Cliffs” installed at the La Plata Branch of the Charles County Library. Unique fossils taken from the museum collection are also on display. The exhibit will run through February, 2015.
This exhibit highlights Calvert Cliffs, which is located on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, and extends for more than thirty miles from Fairhaven in Anne Arundel County, south to Drum Point in Calvert County. “The Paleontology of Calvert Cliffs” discusses the history and importance of the fossilized remains of shells, bones and teeth of animals that lived in our area ten to twenty million years ago.
Beginning April 1, 2015, the exhibit will be on display at the Potomac Branch of Charles County Library in Indian Head, Maryland.
