EUGENE MEYER, AUTHOR OF CHESAPEAKE COUNTRY, AT CMM
The classic photo book on one of America’s most beautiful destinations,
revised and updated
Meet Eugene Meyer, author of Chesapeake Country on Saturday, October 10 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Calvert Marine Museum’s Patuxent River Appreciation Days (PRAD). Meyer is a Chesapeake country resident and longtime Washington Post reporter and editor. Pre-purchase Chesapeake Country in the Museum Store or pick up a copy at the Museum Store Book Fair tent during PRAD and have it personalized and autographed. It would make a great holiday gift!
Taken from Chesapeake Country Second Edition:
“Beautifully photographed by Lucian Niemeyer and written by Eugene L. Meyer, Chesapeake Country tells the story of the bay in all its aspects; its waterscape and wildlife; its delicate ecology; its complex history as the seedbed of American liberty as well as American slavery; and its uncertain present, as the population of watermen who live by crabbing and oystering dwindles, and the number of newcomers seeking a respite from city life grows. The second edition includes a new introduction that discusses the future of the bay in the era of climate change and brings us up to date on the places and personalities of the Chesapeake.”
For more information and to purchase a copy of the book, call the Museum Store at 410-326-2750.
